2012 Apollo Stakes Form Guide

Autumn specialist is back to defend his George Ryder title and he’s well suited to fire over this trip.

Shoot Out

Actually has two wins and three minors from seven goes over this trip so he could be a chance after running third to Rain Affair over 1200m first up.

Had a great spring and is in peak form but may struggle to get going over the 1400m.

Won this race last year but it’s been a lean trot since for this eight year old veteran.

Rain Affair

Unbeaten from eight since running second on debut, dominated last start and he’ll be odds on to win here again.

Centennial Park

Finished second to Rain Affair last start but will need to make up a four length margin over the extra 200m.

Hawk Island

The 1400m is too short for Hawk Island but look to see him winding up late in readiness for a big autumn.

Has two wins over this trip but it’s been pretty slim pickings at Rosehill from five starts, may not be suited to the track.

Another that will find the 1400m too short but is in for bigger things later in the carnival.

Herculean Prince

He’s been out of form for a while now and desperately needs to find some, one saving grace is that he’s one from one at the track.

Sniper’s Bullet

Looked ok up until his poor performance in the Expressway Stakes, Kathy O’Hara has the task of extracting the form of old.

Consistent horse and worthy of running in this grade, suited to the trip and could be a value place chance.

Sacred Choice

She’s praying for rain but even then won’t be at her best until she gets to a mile.
